WIN fellows carry out their research projects on their own responsibility. In addition to designing and managing the content, this also includes personnel and financial planning. They are supported in this by the Academy's office. Membership in the Kolleg leads to admission to the Young Academy | HAdW. Here the academy offers a first contact with committee work in academic institutions. This activity includes:
- Organising the meetings of the WIN-Kolleg (at least 5 times a year)
- Participation in the scientific meetings of the plenum and the two classes of the Academy (5× per year each)
- Participation in other selected events of the Academy (usually 2× per year, also in cooperation with the elite programme for postdocs of the Baden-Württemberg Foundation)
- Participation in the WIN-in-Contact Programme of the Young Academy | HAdW, together with the members of the Academy
- Collaboration on a joint publication of all WIN projects of the ninth sub-programme
- Participation in research transfer and science communication
- Possibility of applying for an Athens Fellowship for international guest researchers in one's own project.
Interested researchers should be willing to cooperate with the other funded WIN fellows within the framework topic "Principles, Methods and Challenges of Scientific Complexity Reduction" (internal link).
