For 20 years, the Heidelberg Academy of Sciences and Humanities has been promoting outstanding young scientists in Baden-Württemberg through financial support and scientific advice with the WIN-Kolleg of the Young Academy | HAdW. WIN fellows benefit from interdisciplinary discussion and thus from a central founding idea of the Academy. With the support of the state of Baden-Württemberg, the WIN-Kolleg opens up a special free space for interdisciplinary research and enables exchange with Academy members.
In a new round of calls for proposals, young researchers from all disciplines who have already distinguished themselves through outstanding scientific achievements and are working at a research institution in the state of Baden-Württemberg are invited to submit an application for funding for an interdisciplinary research project on the topic of "Complexity Reduction - Principles, Methods and Challenges" (internal link). Applications can be submitted for the period 2024 to 2026 (with an option for extension after successful evaluation) for personnel, auxiliary staff and material resources as well as, if desired, the applicants' own job shares.
The deadline for submitting a draft proposal is 9 December 2022. Participation in a networking meeting on 23 January 2023 is a prerequisite for submitting a full proposal. The full proposal itself must be submitted by 30 April 2023. The start of funding is 1 January 2024.
