Personal requirements of the future WIN fellows
When submitting an application, you must
- have a doctorate or habilitation be active at an early point in your academic career (there is no formal age limit for submitting an application, family phases are taken into account in the review process),
- work at a research institution in Baden-Württemberg
- not be appointed to a tenured professorship at the time of application.
Each draft proposal and each full proposal must be interdisciplinary in nature, i.e. the applicants should already cooperate across disciplines in the project itself. The full proposal should explain how interdisciplinary cooperation can contribute to research on the project or call topic.
Subject to budgetary resources, financial support will begin on 1 January 2026 and will run for three years. It can be extended for up to two years subject to budgetary funds after a successful evaluation of the results achieved in the project and an application for extension. It should be calculated in such a way that the WIN fellows are adequately supported in their projects and in the regular joint meetings on the framework topic in the WIN programme. Applications can be made for personnel, auxiliary and material funds. If desired, applications can also be made for the applicant's own share of the workload up to a level of 50% FTE. Large-scale equipment cannot be applied for. No premises will be provided by the Academy. A confirmation of employment from the relevant resident research institution must be enclosed with the full proposal.
