The Young Academy | Heidelberg Academy for Sciences and Humanities invites Early Career Researchers (Post-Doc level) from all disciplines to submit proposals for interdisciplinary research projects concerning the subject “Embodiment. Interdependencies Between Body, Mind, and Machine.” Applicants should have an excellent scientific background. Employment at a research institution located in Baden-Württemberg is mandatory.
In keeping with its founding idea of bringing together outstanding scientists from the state for interdisciplinary discussion and joint basic research, the Heidelberg Academy of Sciences and Humanities has been promoting outstanding young researchers in Baden-Württemberg since 2002 through its WIN-Kolleg of the Young Academy. The Academy offers financial support as well as scientific advice.
Projects will be funded from 2026 to 2028. In case of a successful evaluation, a two-year extension is possible. Funding will be provided for personnel and non-personnel costs.
Deadline for submitting a draft proposal is the 3rd of March, 2025. Proposals may be submitted in English or German. Participation in a networking workshop which takes place on the 31st of March, 2025, is mandatory for submitting a full proposal. The deadline for the full proposal is the 12th of May, 2025. Funding will begin on the 1st of January, 2026.
