Pictorial lexicon of classical mythology (LIMC)

1963 - 1999

Recording mythological pictorial themes in all ancient pictorial art from the Greek-Geometric period to around 400 AD as a source for myth research, religious, art and literary studies. Publication of the Lexicon Iconographicum Mythologiae Classicae (LIMC), a handbook of mythology in the pictorial art of Greece, the Roman Empire and neighboring cultures.
