The prize, made possible by Manfred Lautenschläger through his foundation, specifically benefits the humanities and cultural studies, whose status as orientation sciences for our present is emphasised by its focus on history, society and culture. It is intended to be both a ‘recognition’ and a ‘motor’ for young researchers.
The prize is endowed with 10,000 euros and was awarded for the first time in 2022.
