The call for abstracts is now closed. The selection process will take place on June 24, and all candidates will be notified of the results by June 27.
Please note that the registration deadline has been extended to July 12. Authors of selected abstracts will be considered automatically registered.
We encourage any contribution, especially from early-career scientists, that would help address the challenges detailed here after. The contributions may focus on new results (sessions #1, #3 and #5) or on methodological developments (sessions #2, #4, and #6).
Highlighting the local and global risks caused by hydrological disturbances in cold regions
Session #1: What are the current magnitude, speed, or distribution of hydrological disturbances in cold-regions? How does it affect human populations or the biodiversity?
Session #2: Can we conduct research in data-scarce environment? What are the best ways to down-scale geospatial information, fill gaps in time-series, or overcome measurement scarcity?
Improving the numerical representation of hydrological processes in cold-regions
Session #3: What are the applications of hydrological modeling? How does data quality (and quantity) influence model performance?
Session #4: How to evaluate and reduce uncertainty in numerical modeling?
Improving the accuracy of medium- and long-term hydrological projections in cold-regions
Session #5: What would be the long-term effects of permafrost thaw on greenhouse gases emissions, vegetation cover, or hydrological cycle?
Session #6: How would evolve hydrological disturbances according to climate projections? How does uncertainty in climate projection quantitatively affect hydrological projections (and vice versa)?
To apply for a short talk (20 min + 5 min for questions) or a poster, please send an abstract of your work (approximately 1 page) including your name, status, affiliation, the session you wish to contribute to (#1 to #6 or poster session), and whether you are willing to publish an extended article in the conference proceedings at a later stage. For convenience, a template for abstract submission in provided in the download section.
The deadline for applications is extended to May 25th, 2025.
Please submit your application in a PDF file to Dr. Léa Bussière (lbussier@uni-heidelberg.de). You may also use this email address to ask any questions regarding applications.
